Announcing Parts Consignment Program
Since the inception of WCCC in 1990 we have, on occasion, taken customers' NOS and high value used parts on consignment. We are now expanding our consignment program to include large quantities of reproduction parts.
Some of you have had some FANTASTIC ideas for new reproductions and we want to do them all, now! But... the reality is that we cannot do them all at once, and even if we could, the tax burden on holding huge quantities of inventory would be immense. This is an opportunity for you, the Classic Cougar Community to contribute, and to profit in two ways.
Firstly, you would buy reproduction parts direct from our suppliers, consign them with WCCC, and each quarter as we sold the consigned parts you would get back what you paid for the part plus a few bucks, on average about a 7% profit.
The second way a consignor benefits is that he gets a blanket 10% off everything in our store and up to 30% off WCCC exclusives. Most blocks of inventory will sell in about 2 years and most invoices are $10-$30k with an occasional invoice as high as $100k.
I envision this working well for the guy doing an all out, high end restoration on his Cougar. He knows he is going to spend $20k on parts in the next couple of years and he has $10-20k earmarked for paint and body. Plug the $10-20k into reproduction parts, consign them to WCCC and you have now substantially increased your purchase power. Because these kind of profits are rather elusive these days and we envision many folks wanting to participate, we are only opening this up to select WCCC customers and members of the ClassicCougarCommunity.com forum. I will only field questions on that forum and by phone.
Here are just a few parts that we would take on consignment right now and below that are a list of parts we would like someone to consign with us in the near future. Actual invoice amount will vary, these are round numbers.

This Online Mercury Cougar Parts Catalog was a new venture for us in August 2006 and what you see here is just the start!
We currently have over 11,767 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973 Mercury Cougar parts and related products for your beloved Cougar within our online catalog. Within the next months / years we hope to have many thousands more Cougar parts listed. In the mean time you will still need to call or email to order Cougar parts not shown in our online catalog.

Often our customers will order as many parts as they can from our site and then follow up with a call to add parts not shown or to get clarification on other parts.
We have parted out just over 1100 early Mercury Cougars since our humble beginnings in Northeast Portland back in 1989!
Please do not assume that if the 1967 - 1973 Mercury Cougar part you are looking for is not in this catalog, that we do not have it, as we have an 11,000 square foot, 2 story tall warehouse full of 1967 - 1973 Mercury Cougar parts in addition to our wrecking yard.
A word about pricing, we will not always be the least expensive place to buy your Cougar parts from, nor will we be the most expensive. However, we do want to be the BEST place to buy Mercury Cougar parts from! We want to be the best at hiring friendly and knowledgeable staff, best at keeping a vast inventory on hand, best at shipping promptly after you order, best at returning your phone calls and emails within one business day. We will be best at accurately describing the part you wish to buy, best at listening to your needs and concerns, and most importantly best at earning your repeat business! Our goal is not to have the trendiest, brightest, most high tech parts business in the country... You will probably never find multiple brands of headers and the latest 20" wheels on our site. We are a small company with only eight full time employees. Often when you show up a few of our staff will walk out to admire your classic Cougar. Often I am the one who will take your order over the phone, pull the used parts from the parts car and sometimes even package it. We pride ourselves on remembering our repeat customers not only by their name but what year and model of Cougar they own. We are large enough to take care of your smallest, most detailed parts needs but big enough to be there for you online, in person and over the phone year after year, decade after decade. Often experienced collectors will buy a new project and make a small purchase from several vendors to "test" the waters. This is a good approach in my opinion. Order a manual or other small item from us, don't mention the thousands you plan to spend on your Cougar in the future, just see how we treat you on a $20 purchase. Our bet is you will come back time and time again. Old cars are supposed to be fun and the "hunt" for parts and information can actually be more fun than driving them! We are truly excited about this on-line catalog project; we hope it will make our job easier and your Cougar parts shopping experience smoother by giving you detailed photos, descriptions and part numbers of almost every part on your car.
